I’m a business owner (OverHaul Fitness, Leverage Nutrition), Registered Dietitian, and Personal Trainer.
I love doing most things active, in particular hockey and squash (the sport). I’ve been working in the health industry for 10+ years. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, and watching movie and tv series. I also like to cook when I have the time; admittedly, I like the idea of cooking more often than the “doing part.”
My Philosophy Towards Health:
These two bolded points below pretty much summarize my philosophy:
Balance: Don’t be obsessive or too strict with exercise and/or diet. Use the 80/20 principle, eat foods that are good for you at least 80% of the time and treat yourself the other 20%. This is a much more practical and long-term approach. Life’s too short to not enjoy food, or to be exercising all the time. You need some flexibility to have some fun in between all the “rules.”
What you do most of the time beats what you do some of the time.
Practicality & Sustainability: Do active things that you enjoy and make them a part of your lifestyle. This way you’ll do it because you like it, not out of obligation. Same goes with eating habits, find foods and recipes that are healthy and that you like.
